Concurrency Limit

MyiLibrary offers several concurrency models. Institutions may select the single concurrency model, which allows for only one user to view an e-book at any given time. In addition, institutions may select the multiple user model. The number of concurrent users in our multiple user model range from two to unlimited. The exact number of concurrent users for the multiple concurrency model will be defined in the institution's contract.

Restrictions

Access to the MyiLibrary platform will be authenticated at the institution level. Titles are subject to DRM in accordance with publisher agreements.

Notes

MyiLibrary permits limited portions of each e-book to be downloaded or printed. The actual pages allowed to be downloaded or printed are determined on a publisher level. End users may also save notes and searches as well as personalize the platform by creating free, personal accounts.

In addition, MyiLibrary supports Shibboleth and Athens authentication.

The ability to Search Other Content is not currently supported, as MyiLibrary is a standalone platform.

Presentation

First the e-book's cover appears with the e-book details (metadata).

After the user opens the e-book in the Viewer, there are two panes shown. The left-hand pane shows tabs for Bibliographic Details, Notes, Table of Contents, Search and Reference Tools. The right-hand pane shows a page-by-page full text display.

Alerts are available for new titles, new editions and e-book updates. These are sent by email to a user's registered email address.

Downtime (as specified in service level agreements)

There is no scheduled downtime and no regular periods of downtime. Updates take a few minutes and a user will barely notice the interruption.
