Includes peer reviewed journals in English or with English summaries, books over 60 pages, articles in collective volumes, selected working papers series, North American dissertations, book reviews with economic content. Coverage omits articles on non-economic subjects from 1969-2005, when our policy changed to cover-to-cover indexing. Includes title, authors, affiliations, abstract for journal articles, books, working papers; title, authors, affiliations for collective volume articles and book reviews (forthcoming in 2006-7); title, author, degree-granting institution, abstract for dissertations; and full-text Journal of Economic Literature book reviews.

Content Classification

We use subject classifications, subject codes, controlled vocabulary terms, geographic descriptors, regional descriptors (seven continents), named persons, festschrift honorees. as well as document types. We are adding a language field this month, although most documents covered are in English, and non-English documents have English summaries (abstracts).

Keywords and Indexes

We also add "keywords", controlled vocabulary terms that are identified in the title or abstract as fitting with the subject classification.

Authority Files

We use journal authority, named person, and geographic descriptor authority files

Citation Linking

Citations are linked to library holdings and online subscriptions by vendors. We provide DOIs for journals who give us electronic data containing DOIs. Working papers include the URL of the paper in most cases.

Full Text Linking

Depends on the library's system and the vendor. We provide, ISSN, ISBN, year, volume issue, DOI, URL of working papers.
